Research at the Geothermal Congress 2026

The Geothermal Congress (DGK) 2026 in Potsdam is the central industry gathering for everyone engaged with geothermal energy from a scientific, economic or political perspective. LIAG is a partner of the DGK and will present its research.

Researchers at LIAG have been working on geothermal energy for more than 70 years. At the DGK, they will present their latest results from research projects in a practical and accessible way, including joint work with the University of Göttingen.

The full programme is available on the event website.

Abstract submission: by 31 May 2026

With its call for papers, the German Geothermal Association invites all interested parties to present their current research findings at DGK 2026. Abstracts can be submitted until 31 May 2026. Early-career researchers are also invited to take part in the Science Bar. The Science Bar poster competition offers an opportunity to present bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral theses to a specialist audience. The best presentation will be awarded the Early-Career Researcher Prize. From August onwards, full papers may be submitted, ideally up until shortly before the start of the congress. Each contribution will receive a DOI via Zenodo. There is also the option of publishing presentations in the digital conference proceedings.
